Fulton's Flyers resumed their winning ways with a solid if unspectacular victory in the Last 16 of the Last Man Stands World Championships in Cape Town. Against the Marina team from Singapore, an indifferent batting display was rounded off in a blaze of sixes and fours by Calum Drummond, finishing the Flyers innings with a huge six off the last ball of the innings, which under LMS rules scored 12 to boost the final total to 155 for six wickets.

Then, in their final pool match, with two runs needed for an unlikely Australian victory, the Flyers were controversially defeated by an experienced Brisbane side ‘stealing’ a legal extra run after the striker had been sensationally caught on the boundary.
